Stop Waiting for the “Right Time.” Our Time is Now.

How long have you waited on the “Right time?”

Ya’ll I feel that the worldly side of us feeds our heads with excuse after excuse.  Causing our hearts and our heads to be misaligned.

Especially for what we consider the “BIG stuff”, i.e. career change, marriage, children, going back to school, getting more involved at church, taking two weeks off of work for self care, signing the kids up for clubs, and the list goes on and on.

My thing right now?  Figuring out what in the world blogging is capable of here in the middle of 2020.

So I finally started.  I am here typing out thoughts that pass through my head.

Sweet baby girl helping Mama be brave and do something out of her comfort zone.

What I have gathered from my own time reading other women’s blogs is that there is such a wonderful mix of them out there.  On any topic I could imagine.  And the cool thing is that each one of them has something unique to bring to the table.

Hey, we all have different testimonies so in turn we all have something unique to bring.  Right?

Think about when you met someone for the first time and you just talked and talked for hours about anything and everything, and you just really felt to be in sync with ideas, stories, values, etc.  (good feeling right?)

Those people might challenge you in wonderful ways.

Maybe they bring up some thought-provoking questions that really cause you to dig deep.  As human beings we are wired to thrive on this.

Compared to when you met someone that you really just could not get your conversation to go anywhere, thinking that the only thing you have in common is that you’re both human (might be a tad bit awkward…)

That is A-OK! Guess what, those people have their own tribe too.

That’s the beauty in life you guys.  God created us in such unique ways, that we have the ability to hone in and connect with some people whether through a heartfelt conversation or a ridiculous story about potty training your child.

GOD USES US.  Let’s LET HIM!

Maybe Your Thoughts Are Not for Everyone. Let It Go.

We don’t have to connect with everyone we encounter, or everyone that stops on our blog.

Some people may just read the first paragraph and peace out, and others, well, may just come to stick around for quite some time.

Guess what? If its not for them, put a smile on your face and keep on cruising!

(Like my little babe running as fast as she can with My Mama-KEEP GOING!)

Runnin’ Runnin’, Run, Runnin’ Runnin’

Accepting that my thoughts, experiences, advice, and humor may not be for everyone has helped me to release those excuses for starting.

Heck, if one person reads something I write and gets a kick out of it, or has a moment where she can relate, or even a moment of self-realization, then hey-that’s awesome!!

Same for you too! Don’t let other people steal your joy.

Testimonies Speak

When I made the decision to dedicate my life to Jesus, my church had me give my testimony on video to share with the church prior to the baptism.

Slightly skeptical at first, I finally agreed. My initial thoughts were fear of judgement and “not being good enough.”

Guess what? Jesus Christ squashed that on The Cross.

Like squashed like a grape… If I continued to believe that I am not good enough, then that is like saying that what He did on the cross that day didn’t matter.

What He did that day is everything.

He PROVED that I AM good enough. He PROVED that YOU ARE good enough too!

And we become washed clean in this process.

Baptisms are so dang refreshing. Literally the most cleansing act that we can do in our faith. This was the day that changed my life forever.

Anyway, they were just getting the youth program started at the time. I was honored to meet the youth pastor that morning and shocked when he asked that I come alongside them to serve the students.

My first reaction when they asked me to become part of the ministry and walk along side high school girls was “thanks, but no thanks, I am not sure I’d be able to help TEENAGE GIRLS as I was not a good role model at that age.”

…Let go & Let God.

God laughed at me and said to “JUST GO”.  When God tells me to do something, I have learned that I should probably just do it.  So I went.

And I went every Sunday night for several years after that.

That first Sunday night was one of the most pure, perfect nights.  It opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on a lot of things.  We will talk more about that later.

What I am trying to get at is that when I listened to God that day and pursued the role of a leader, He used me.  He used my testimony to cause some amazing breakthroughs, and I got to experience some unbelievable experiences with those girls.

It was incredible to witness walls crashing down in some of those girls hearts.

Ya’ll, we go through crap so that God’s light can shine.

Was it easy sharing certain topics that came from my testimony prior to becoming a Christian?  No.  But I felt God nudge me to do so on multiple occasions so I did.  Big things happened.

BREAKTHROUGHS HAPPEN.

ESPECIALLY when we put God at the focus point.

I still have a handful of those lasting relationships that we built years ago and are still as great as they were back then.

We are obviously in different parts of life now, BUT, you cannot undo what God has done, and when God moves, big things happen.

I entered that youth room with a thought in the back of my head that if I can help one girl throughout my time here, then that’ll be great.

God blew that out of the water.  Time and time again.

So I am not here to downsize myself, however I am here to make God more, and make me less.

And you know what, for some this may just be a quick read, while for others, it may just be the reminder that God is ABSOLUTLEY in your corner!  HE makes big things happen. We just have to let Him.

Go Start

I don’t know the future of what this experience may hold.  But God does.   Something I do know is that God was tugging on my heart to START.

I grabbed my bible just before writing this quick, simple post, and felt led to Ecclesiastes.

I may not know if anyone ever reads what I write, or let alone if it touches anyone, but My Heavenly Father does, and that is 100% good enough with me.  I may as well try my darndist to be a faithful servant.

The scripture that touched me was:
“He has made everything appropriate in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

If that isn’t enough of a reason to start, I don’t know what is.

Grab your reins, sit your butt (and ALL of its glory) in the saddle, and start the ride!

Or if you’re a fearless go-getter, don’t hold the reins at all! Go get ’em cowgirl!

My time to start this is now.  And mama, whatever your dream, your ideas, your desires… it’s your time to start too.

Be Blessed,
Bri
